About Us

My wife, Hannah, and I met in March of 2008. After some pretty aggressive pursuit on my part, I convinced her to marry me. We got married on September 12, 2008. Hannah always wanted kids. She once wrote a essay in middle school about how she wanted to grow up to be a mommy. I was pretty keen on the idea of being a daddy too, so after about 2 weeks of marriage we decided to have a kid. Apparently Hannah and I are pretty fertile, because she became pregnant not long afterwards. After months of all day sickness (it would seem that morning sickness just wasn't enough), nightmares (Hannah once woke up screaming because she was dreaming her sister Molly was throwing her china out of the window and breaking it), and all of the crazy emotions (she once cried because the new flooring made the paint look almost pink), our son Joseph was born on June 21, 2009. Of course he had to come on the 21 and forever make me confused. twelfth or twenty-first. I can never remember which is the anniversary and which is the birthday. Joey was also the best father's day present I'll probably ever get.
After Joey was born we decided to wait a while before we had another baby. When Joey was about 9 months old, Hannah started throwing up every morning. At first we thought she just had the flu, but after a week we decided to take a pregnancy test. She was pregnant again (and yes we were using birth control). It was a good thing Joey had learned to sleep through the night early on in his life. The nights were sleepless enough as it was. After more all day sickness (yes, both times), more nightmares (She had one where a ghost was trying to seduce me and woke up screaming "go away!"), and a lot more crazy emotions (how are we going to raise two kids this close together), our daughter Ella was born on October 26, 2010.

After Ella was born we decided, definitely no more children for a while. We started using two types of birth control. One day Hannah comes home from work, goes straight into the bathroom (I had become a stay at home dad in September of 2011), and doesn't come out for a while. I was about to go in and check on her when she came out crying. Yep, you guessed it. Pregnant again. So now our oldest child is 2 years and 4 months old, our youngest just turned 1, and another baby is due on May 1st. For those of you doing the math and counting the months, that will put Joey at about 2 years 10 months, and Ella at 1 year 6 months. I will soon be a stay at home dad with 3 kids under 3. This blog is about my attempts to keep my kids from dying, or killing me. This is my beautiful family.

  1. Wow! Sounds way too familiar. We had 3 wild-ones in 3 years. Each night, we'd give them baths then lay them on the ground to put on diapies and jammies. I tell our friends the best thing we did after the 3rd was born is get cable. Oh and by the way, good job not asking your pregnant wife if the dream-ghost seducing you was hot.
